As per recent data released by South Korean customs it is observed that country’s import for pig iron is almost firm in July 2017; which is consecutively similar from past three months.
In Jul’17, the nation’s import for pig iron logged at 30,000 MT which is similar against imported during Jun’17 & May’17.
Coming to total imports in CY 2017 (Jan-Jul’17), the nation has imported about 170,000 MT pig iron; down by 26% as compared to 230,000 MT in the same preceding last year.
Country wise:
In 2017 (Jan-Jul) – Russia, China, India was the major pig iron exporter to South Korea which exported about 70,000 MT (39.51%), 50,000 MT (29.59%) & 20,000 MT (11.18%), respectively.
Russia continues to remain the largest Pig iron supplier to South Korea –
Russia remained in the top list of Pig iron exporters to South Korea. While in the duration (Jan-Jun’17), Russia has exported around 2.26 MnT pig iron & exported around 2% of exported quantity to south korea.
In context to import prices, global offers for steel grade pig Iron is assessed at USD 345-350/MT FOB India & USD 350-355/MT FOB Russia
