South Korea: Major steel mills plan to purchase ferrous scrap from 16 Jul’24

South Korean major steel mills like Daehan Steel and YK Steel have announced that starting today (Tuesday), 16 July, they will commence contract purchases of all grades of ferrous scrap, increasing purchase prices by KRW 10,000/t. Similarly, Korea Iron and Steel will conduct a special purchase of all grades of ferrous scrap from today onwards, also applying a KRW 10,000/t increase until further notice.
