South Korea’s leading steel mills, such as Welcome Steel, Deahan Steel, YK Steel, Korea Steel, and SeAH Besteel, have decided to lower scrap procurement prices by KRW 10,000/t ($8/t), starting from 7 February. Notably, Welcome Steel was the first company to follow suit after Hyundai Steel initiated the price cut.
