South Korea: Major mills resume scrap bookings from Russia

  • Major South Korean steel mills have resumed contracts of Russian A3 scrap, as per SteelDaily reports.
  • Two mills combinedly booked a cargo containing 40,000 t of the material at a price of $425/t CFR. The cargo is expected to arrive in South Korea in Sept’22.
  • Due to supply shortage and continuously rising prices of domestic scrap, the deal got concluded at higher levels.
