Steel major Hyundai Steel is planning to raise heavy plates prices by KRW 50,000/t ($39/t) in Mar’23. The price hike is the result of increasing manufacturing costs due to a sharp hike in raw materials prices and rising electricity, gas and ferro alloys prices. Also, it is expected that plates demand from the shipbuilding sector would remain steady this year.
