South Korea: Ferro Alloy Imports Rises Substantially in Apr’18

According to the South Korean customs, the country has witnessed a substantial increase of 29% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

In Apr’18, South Korea imported a total of 0.09 MnT Ferro Alloys against 0.07 MnT in Mar’18. Moreover, on yearly basis, there has again been an increase of 13% Y-o-Y as South Korea imported 0.08 MnT in Apr’17.

In Apr’18, Korea imported 0.05 MnT of Ferro Chrome, 0.02 MnT Ferro Silicon, and 0.01 MnT Silico Manganese. South Korea recorded a substantial increase of 67% M-o-M in its Ferro Chrome imports as it imported 0.03 MnT in Mar’18. While Ferro Silicon and Silico Manganese imports by South Korea was stable in the month.

South Africa being the largest Ferro Alloy exporter to South Korea witnessed a rise of 50% M-o-M in its export volume at 0.03MnT in Apr’18, while China surpassed India to become the second largest exporter at 0.02 MnT. India, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan exported 0.01 Mnt each followed by others.
