According to the South Korean customs, the country has witnessed a marginal decrease of 10% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.
In Sep’18, South Korea imported a total of 84,835 MT Ferro Alloys against 76,889 MT in Aug’18. However, on yearly basis, there has been a mere decrease of 3% Y-o-Y as South Korea imported 87,441 MT in Sep’17.
In Sep’18, Korea imported 59,992 MT of Ferro Chrome, 19,717 MT Ferro Silicon, and 5,126 MT Silico Manganese. South Korea recorded a substantial increase of around 27% M-o-M in its Ferro Chrome imports. On the other hand, Ferro Silicon and Silico Manganese imports by South Korea witnessed a substantial fall of 16% and 18.5% M-o-M respectively.
India surpassed South Africa as the largest Ferro Alloy exporter to South Korea, recording export sales volume at 29,322 MT in Sep’18, witnessing a massive increase of 64% M-o-M. South Africa was the second largest exporter to South Korea at 15,417 MT witnessing a decrease of 30% M-o-M. While China was the third largest exporter with an export volume of 13,745 MT in Sep’18.
