South Korean steel major Dongkuk Steel has hiked heavy plate prices by KRW 40,000/t ($32/t) from 10 Mar’22, as per a SteelDaily report. Prices are rising on increased demand from the shipbuilding sector, higher import prices and limited supply in the domestic market. Steel major POSCO has already increased plate prices by KRW 30,000/t ($24/t) for March.
