In South Asia, the ferrous scrap market witnessed mixed trends today. Indian buyers showed strong interest in the imported scrap, while Pakistan and Bangladesh exhibited subdued interest. Additionally, approximately 7,000 t of HMS scraps were secured from Australia at $405-410/t CFR Chennai. Reports highlighted Pakistan’s mills running at reduced capacity due to sluggish steel demand, with some temporarily halting production.
