South Asia: Ferrous scrap prices range-bound d-o-d as market remains silent

Imported ferrous scrap prices in South Asia remained range-bound d-o-d today. One of the key markets, India, is inactive on account of the upcoming Holi festival. Trade activities in the country may resume post-the holidays.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s market remained subdued with no trade activity and prices remained steady. Bangladesh’s market remained quiet as sellers kept offers stable.

Price assessments

  • Europe-origin shredded scrap offers into India stood at $480/t CFR Nhava Sheva, unchanged d-o-d.
  • UK-origin shredded scrap prices stood at $505/t CFR Chattogram, the same as the last offer on a d-o-d basis.
  • UK-origin shredded scrap prices stood at $495/t CFR Qasim, unmoved d-o-d.
