South Asia: Construction activities in Vietnam, Thailand grows in Q3 CY ’20 – SEAISI

The construction steel activities in South Asian countries witnessed a sharp drop in the third quarter CY ’20 due to COVID-19 led lockdown. Countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Philippines saw double digit decline whereas Indonesia saw a slight improvement but still remained down by 4.5% q-o-q. Meanwhile, Vietnam & Thailand emerged as the only countries to see a continuous positive growth in its construction activities in Q3 with 5.7% and 10.5%, q-o-q respectively.
