Prices of South African coal (Non-Coking) in the global market have seen slight price decline on the back of less buying interest from countries like Europe and China.
On the other side, prices of Indonesian material remain at same level due to booked shipments till May. “Alteration in the prices (up and down) will be seen after May as Indonesia is fulfilling the supply orders till May end at same price level”, said an importer based in Mumbai.
Current price offers for RB1 (South Africa) is at $80/MT (FoB Richards Bay ), whereas Indonesian 3800 GAR is in the range of $37-38 and 4200 GAR is in the range of $41-43 respectively. Supramax freight charge from Indonesia (South Kalimantan) remains stable at $12/MT.
According to sources, freight cost is expected to increase in the month of June and July due to movement of grains in china and onset of monsoon.
