South Africa, the world’s third-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported 30,095 MT Pig iron in Aug’16 according to trade statistics released by South African customs.
South African Pig iron exports have registered a growth of 109% M-o-M in Aug’16 against 14,383 MT in Jul’16. On similar lines, exports significantly moved up by 8% Y-o-Y against 27,860 MT in Aug’15.
In the first eight months of 2016, the country exported 203,902 MT Pig iron, down by 36% as compared to 317,957 MT in the same time period prior this year.
Country’s Pig iron exports majorly directed towards Netherlands, Germany, US, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, etc. In Aug’16, exports to Netherlands remained at 5,000 MT, US at 5,600 MT, Japan 5,000 MT, South Korea 4,000 MT and Thailand at 100 MT.
