South Africa, the world’s third-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported 18,264 MT Pig iron in Oct’16 according to trade statistics released by South African customs.
South African Pig iron exports have registered a downfall of 37% M-o-M in Oct’16 against 28,981 MT in Sept’16. On similar lines, exports significantly moved down by 13% Y-o-Y against 21,089 MT in Oct’15.
In the first 10 months of 2016, the country exported 251,147 MT Pig iron, down by 34% as compared to 381,031 MT in the same time period prior this year.
Country’s Pig iron exports majorly directed towards Netherlands, US, Thailand etc. In Oct’16, exports to Netherlands remained at 7,000 MT, US at 5,600 MT, Thailand 700 MT etc.
