South Africa, the world’s third-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported 12,984 MT Pig iron in Jul’16 according to trade statistics released by South African customs.
South African Pig iron exports have registered a downfall of 44% M-o-M in Jul’16 against 23,150 MT in Jun’16. On similar lines, exports significantly fall by 61% Y-o-Y against 33,680 MT in Jul’15.
In the first seven months of 2016, the country exported 172,407 MT Pig iron, down by 40.5% as compared to 290,096 MT in the same time period prior this year.
Country’s Pig iron exports majorly directed towards Netherlands, Germany, US, Thailand etc. In Jul’16, exports to Netherlands remained at 5,000 MT, Germany at 4,000 MT, US at 2,800 MT and Thailand at 620 MT.
