South Africa is the largest exporter of manganese ore in the world. According to the latest Customs data, South African manganese ore exports have registered a substantial increase of around 11% to 12.45 MnT in 2016 against 11.17 MnT in 2015.
Moreover, as per other parameter of comparison, the export quantity of manganese ore in Dec’16 has recorded a lead on Dec’15 exports by 110.78%.
China stands out to be the largest importer of South African manganese ore followed by India, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Norway among others. China alone imported around 65% of the South African manganese ore with an import of about 8.03 Mnt.
