South Africa: Thermal coal exports may fall by 11% in Aug’22

South African thermal coal exports are likely to decline by 11% m-o-m to to 4.3 mnt in Aug’22, CoalMint vessel line-up data reveals. The fall in shipments is because of the scheduled maintenance last month and slower pace of coal deliveries from mines to ports. Elevated coal prices have resulted in a steep decline in its export demand from India and Pakistan.
