South Africa: RBCT port operations hit due to IT glitch

An IT glitch in South Africa’s state-owned logisitics firm, Transnet, has disrupted container loading at Richards Bay and Durban port, as per latest reports. Though rail deliveries and shipments from RBCT were not affected, vessel movements had to be recorded manually. On the other hand, harsh weather conditions halted terminal operations in the Eastern Cape. After civil unrest in the KwaZulu-Natal province two weeks back, Richards Bay port operations have returned to normalcy only recently.
