South Africa: Merafe’s ferrochrome production up by 3% y-o-y in Q1 CY21

Merafe’s attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture in Q1 CY 21 increased by 3% to 103,000 t from 100,000 t CPLY. Meanwhile, the production was up by 6% from Q4 CY20 q-o-q. The company stated in its media release that the increase in production despite cutbacks can be attributed to better operational efficiency achieved during the quarter.
