According to customs data, South Africa recorded 1.98 million tonnes (mnt) of manganese ore exports in Jan’22, down 21% m-o-m as against 2.501 mn t in Dec. China (1.21 mnt, down 36% m-o-m), India (0.27 mnt, up 4% m-o-m), followed by Japan (0.09 mnt, up 90%) remained the largest importers. However, total manganese ore exports from South Africa rose 7% y-o-y from 1.86 mn t in Jan’21.
