South Africa: Iron ore exports fall by over 40%, m-o-m, in April

South Africa’s iron ore exports fell by 44.20% m-o-m in Apr’22 to 3.80 mnt from 6.80 mnt in Mar’22, as per customs data.
China was the largest importer at 1.92 mnt, followed by The Netherlands at 0.88 mnt.
Export volumes fell marginally by 6% on the year to 20.30 mnt in Jan-Apr’22 as against 21.65 mnt in the year-ago period.
