South Africa: Iron ore exports fall by 35% m-o-m in October

South Africa’s iron ore exports fell by 35% m-o-m in Oct’22 to 3.25 mnt from 4.99 mnt in Sep’22, as per customs figures just released.
China was the major importer with 1.39 mnt followed by Mozambique and The Netherlands with 0.66 mnt and 0.63 mnt respectively.
Total export volumes decreased by 10.2% y-o-y to 49.38 mnt in Jan-Oct’22 as against 55 mnt in the year-ago period.
