South Africa: Iron ore exports fall by 20% m-o-m in Jul’24

South Africa’s iron ore exports fell by 20% m-o-m to 3.47 mnt in Jul’24 compared to 4.34 mnt in Jun, as per vessel line-up data maintained by BigMint.
China was the largest importer (0.76 mnt) followed by Japan (0.40 mnt).
Kumba mines was the leading exporter at 1.39 mnt, a decrease of 49% m-o-m, followed by Assmang at 1.33 mnt.
