South Africa: Iron ore exports fall 18%, m-o-m, in Jun’22

South Africa’s iron ore exports fell by 18.1% m-o-m to 5.05 mnt in Jun’22 from 6.17 mnt in May’22, as per data recently released by customs.
China was the largest importer with 2.34 mnt, followed by the Netherlands and South Korea with 0.9 mnt and 0.59 mnt, respectively.
Cumulative export volumes fell marginally by 4% y-o-y to 31.53 mnt in Jan-Jun’22 as against 32.94 mnt in the year-ago period.
