South Africa: Ferro chrome exports fall nearly 30% in August

South Africa’s ferro chrome exports decreased by 29% m-o-m to 254,499 t in Aug’22 from 357,538 t in Jul due to production cuts amid power crisis.
Major importers were China at 108,028 t followed by Indonesia at 50,150 t, and Mozambique at 47,590 t.
In Jan-Aug, export volumes stood at 2.38 mnt, which dropped by 15% compared to the same period last year.
