South Africa has seen an increase in the amount of coal transported by road to Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) after the train derailment. Transnet had issued force majeure statement on Northern corridor shipments after the train derailment. The company has removed all 97 derailed carriages from route but not lifted force majeure.
