South Africa’s chrome ore exports slipped by 20.7%, m-o-m, while exports of ferro chrome stood at 0.28 mnt – a decline of 18% on month in Jul owing to elevated prices of chromite worldwide. Due to ferro chrome production cuts in China, imports of chrome ore from South Africa fell by 28%, m-o-m. On the contrary, due to the tight supply of ferro chrome in the Chinese domestic market, imports surged by 58.7% from South Africa, according to SteelMint sources.
