Major manganese ore miner South 32 has decreased Australian manganese ore lumps (Mn 45%) prices by 18% m-o-m to $6.02/dmtu for Sep’22 shipments. In addition, South African semi-carbonated manganese ore prices are at $4.55/dmtu, down by $0.65/dmtu from Aug’22. The drop in prices is mainly due to weak demand amid 60% production cuts of manganese alloys in China. All prices are on CIF China basis.
