Noida-based SMC Power Generation Ltd acquired main steel mill and power plant of Concast Steel and Power Ltd under liquidation process with an upfront payment of INR 300 crore to lenders, said three people familiar with the matter. SMC has production capacity of 0.2 mn t of sponge iron, 0.35 mn t of billets & 0.25mn t of steel bars.
