Monnet Ispat and Energy Ltd. Steel
plant based in Raipur increased their steel structure prices by Rs 1000/MT on
higher raw material cost and shirt supply of steel scrap.
Steel re-bar prices across the
country moved up by Rs 300-400/MT whereas some mandis' in West Bengal remained
closed due to the Durga Pooja.
Re-bar at Raipur was being
offered between Rs 33,800-34,100/MT (12mm ex-work price) marginally up by Rs
100/MT.
Steel Angle prices at few mandis'
like Indore, Nagpur and Mumbai have gained by Rs 300-1000/MT however prices at
rest of the mandis' remained flat.

Trader, Raipur: “Short
supply of Scrap and rising ingot price keeps steel re-bar expensive in domestic
market. Demand for Finished steel is improve marginally but buyers are not
willing to pay higher as global economy is still uncertain.”
