Shanghai rebar prices move up

Rebar spot and
futures prices in Shanghai rose on Thursday as the market
awaits a cut in the reserve requirement ratio from China's central bank.

Shanghai spot prices of grade III rebar 16-25mm diameter
rose 20-40 yuan to 4,100-4,340 yuan ($651-689) per tonne on Thursday, while
prices of the same material in Beijing were at 4,090-4,260 yuan per tonne,
unchanged since Tuesday.

Rebar prices in Guangzhou were mixed on Thursday, with the
range widening to 4,350-4,640 yuan per tonne, compared with the previous price
of 4,380-4,620/ yuan per tonne.
