Karnataka B category mines would resume operations soon as the Supreme Court concludes hearing. No hearing for Goa mines has been given yet.
Sesa Goa could not produce iron ore in December quarter due to mining ban and incurred losses. It is waiting for an order for last eighteen months. Managing Director Mr P K Mukherjee said a news channel that the company would immediately start mining on Court's order and would achieve 2.3 MnT of output in FY 2014 from Karnataka mines and that the capacity limited to less than 40% of the rated capacity is no more a concern.
Regarding Goa mines, he said that capacity of 14 MnT p.a.but production figures would depend on when does the Court look into hearing for opening up of Goa mines.
But the company would work in the similar manner; produce and export for 8 to 9 months excluding monsoons.
