Offers for imported scrap to Vietnam remained stable this week after a price hike last weekend. However, most of the European & USA yards remained close for the winter holidays.
Offers from the USA for the bulk HMS 1& 2 (80:20) stood in the range of USD 305/MT CFR Vietnam. Japanese H2 scrap offers in bulk cargoes remained stable at around USD 295/MT CFR, while H1/H2 scrap currently being offered at around USD 300/MT CFR.

Indonesia: Indonesian market is expected to resume scrap imports soon as last week KSO Sucofindo – Surveyor (KSO SCISI) issued a notification on 17th Dec’19 related to the inspection of no hazardous and toxic (Non-B3) waste. The most important thing in conducting an inspection based on this new provision is that the domicile of the exporting country must be the same as the origin country of the goods.
