Vietnam – Imported scrap trades to Vietnam picked up last week with several bookings from Japanese origin getting concluded on anticipation by buyers of a further rise in prices, with strong demand from bullish Taiwan pushing the Japanese export offers up, even as Vietnam finished steel sentiments are yet to pick up.
Among few deals concluded last week, Japanese H2 scrap in bulk vessels were sold at USD 234/MT CFR South Vietnam and USD 240-243/MT CFR North Vietnam. Fresh offers for Japanese H2 now stand at USD 240/MT and USD 245/MT CFR for South and North Vietnam mills. Superior grade HS scrap from Japan is being offered at around USD 285/MT CFR Vietnam.
HMS prices have slightly inched up against last week, with HMS 1&2 (80:20) from Australian origin getting offered at USD 250/MT CFR Vietnam.
Indonesia – Decent trades for imported scrap were witnessed over the last week as offers had mostly stabilized against the previous week. 1000 MT of USA origin Bushelling was concluded at USD 263/MT CFR Jakarta in 40 ft containers. Offers for major grades of scrap from most of the origins to Indonesia stand at
Bushelling – USD 265/MT in 40 ft containers and USD 275/MT in 20 ft containers CFR Jakarta
P&S scrap – USD 245/MT in 40 ft containers and USD 255/MT in 20ft CFR Jakarta.
Also, few offers for containerized Shredded 211 were witnessed to Malaysia at USD 250/MT CFR Klang.
Thailand – No major bookings were witnessed this week, while offers for HMS from Central American origin were reported around at USD 230/MT CFR
