Scrap offers to Turkey dropped by $10/MT on falling demand

It is reported that Deep Sea scrap prices
into Turkey fall by $10/MT this week. Offers for HMS 1&2 (80:20) hovering
at $395-405/MT CFR Turkey.

A recent deal was concluded for HMS 1&2
(80:20) from the UK with 30,000 MT at $403/MT CFR Turkey. Another deal for
shredded scrap place late last week at $400/MT CFR Turkey, late last week. 

US origin cargoes were also sold at lower
prices. A mixed cargo of HMS 1&2 (80:20) and shredded material was sold at
$396/MT & $400/MT CFR Turkey respectively.

According to a market source, “Mills are
using lees scrap on falling steel demand. Lower scrap consumption will also
push scrap prices down further in the coming weeks.”
