Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), coal output reached to 5.95 MnT in the month of Dec’16 with a growth of 6%, compared to last month. Similarly, dispatches have also risen by 10% in Dec’16.
SCCL’s monthly coal production, for the first time cross the mark of 5.9 MnT in Dec’16, an increase by 6%, compared to last month. While, yearly coal output has also seen a growth of 4% compared to Dec’15. In Dec’16, SCCL was targeted to produce 5.3 MnT coal. While, the company has achieved 112% coal production for the period.
The company’s production in the first nine months of the fiscal (during Apr-Dec’16) stood at 42.4 MnT, marginally fell by 2% which was at 43.2 MnT last year during the same period.
The company has achieved 101% to 42.4 MnT coal production of its target from Apr-Dec’16, which was targeted 41.9 MnT set for the period.
Dec’16 coal dispatch indicated growth of 10% compared to Nov’16. Coal handling plants (CHP) located in Bellampalli, Mandamarri, Godavarikhani of Peddapalli and Rudrampur of Kothagudem district loaded 155 wagons of coal during the month.
SCCL Achieves Offtake target by 103% from Apr-Dec’16
SCCL achieved more than 100% of its offtake target (41.5 MnT target) and dispatched 42.7 MnT from Apr-Dec’16. However, yearly dispatches have fallen by 2% during the period compared to Apr-Dec’15.

Quantity in MnT
The SCCL yearly coal production was 60.38 MnT in FY16, and has set an output target of 100 MnT for 2020.The company operates about 30 underground and 16 open-cast mines in India.
