Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has reported remarkable dispatch figures in Nov’18. The company has breached the 6-MnT mark for coal dispatch in the month of November, a feat that was not seen until January in the previous fiscal (FY18) and was attained only once in the month of March during FY17.
SCCL’s coal dispatch in Nov’18 has increased 4% on the month to 6.1 MnT, which was also 7% higher on the year from 5.7 MnT in Nov’17.
Indian domestic coal miners-CIL and SCCL, both post steady growth in coal production and off take once the monsoon period draws to a close, and attain their fiscal-high monthly figures in March, in order to get closer to their annual targets.
The remarkable dispatch figures were boosted by the shortage of coal at the thermal power plants, and SCCL’s measures to address the underlying problem.
Recently, SCCL has attained its highest ever rake movement, by transporting 46 rakes in a single day on 27 Nov’18. However, the record stood just for 3 days, as it was surpassed by the transportation of 51 rakes on 30 Nov’18.
The company has transported 1134 coal rakes in total during Nov’18.
The record for the largest coal dispatch in a single-day was also broken, as the company had marked 249,263 MT coal supplies on 30 Nov’18, around 5,531 MT more than what was achieved on 27 Nov’18.
Daily average coal dispatch was noted at 203,634 MT in Nov’18, up 7% M-o-M from 189,841 MT in Oct’18.
During the first 8 months of FY19 (Apr’18-Oct’18), SCCL’s coal dispatch had reached 43.04 MnT, thereby attaining its projection target for the period. Besides, the 8-month total was also 6% higher Y-o-Y compared with 40.73 MnT recorded in the same period in FY18.
SCCL’s Coal Production in Nov’18:
SCCL’s coal production had also attained fresh high for the FY19, by totaling 5.77 MnT in Nov’18.
Output in Nov’18 was up 9% M-o-M from 5.27 MnT in Oct’18, and was also 29% higher on the year from 4.49 MnT in Nov’17.
Among output from individual area, Kothagudem had produced 1.11 MnT coal in Nov’18, followed by Manuguru (0.64 MnT), Yellandu (0.63 MnT), Ramagundam-III (0.60 MnT).
SCCL’s total coal production in the 8-month period of FY19 has reached 39.54 MnT, up 9% Y-o-Y from 36.31 MnT recorded in the same period last year.
