Singareni Collieries Company Limited has announced the schedule for Linkage Auction of coal for various non-regulating sectors.
The current scheme is the fourth tranche of the linkage auction. The company had earlier concluded the third tranche on 12 Sep’18, with the last auction carried out for the Sponge Iron sub-sector.
SCCL in accordance with the policy guidelines announced by Ministry of Coal, carries out the linkage auction to meet the coal requirement of various non-power sectors.
The auction process entitles long term fuel supply for a particular industry which is fixed as 5 years and can be extended by another 5 years on mutual acceptance.
SCCL has raked a total of 1,360,000 MT coal for sales to the Cement, Captive Power Plant (CPP) and ‘Others’ subsector in the first phase of the fourth tranche of linkage auction.
The company has offered 450,000 MT each for Cement and CPP sector, while 460,000 MT has been envisaged for ‘Others’ subsector.
The fourth tranche of auction will kick start on 21 Jan’18, when the auction for ‘Others’ sub-sector will begin and is scheduled for two days (i.e. on 21-22 Jan’18).
The auction for Cement and CPP sector has been scheduled a day prior to the conclusion of ‘Others’ sector’s auction, on 24 and 25 Jan’18.
The reserve coal price is as per the price notified for the non-power sector. While the company has also offered measure for back-up coal supply from secondary source in case of a Force Majeure event.
Interested bidders are required to submit information about the capacity of the plant (in Tonnes per day) for which the coal linkage is being sought, in addition to the payment of registration fee and bid security amount.
