SAIL’s Tender to Purchase 6,600 MT Ferro Silicon

SAIL intends to procure this material for a period of four months starting Aug’15 to Nov’15.

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), a unit of SAIL intends to procure a tentative quantity of 6,660 MT ferro silicon from indigenous and overseas manufacturers of ferro silicon. The material is needed for a period of four months starting Aug’15 to Nov’15.

The total quantity to be purchased will meet the requirement of following plants and shall be covered under one market for the upcoming four months.

The material should contain minimum of 70% silicon. Materials shall be dispatched through roadways and transportation shall be arranged by the bidder including freight charges on door delivery basis.

Last date for submission of bids will be on 25 July’15 at 13.00 hrs and technical bids will open on 27 July’15 at 10.30 hrs.

Ferro Silicon Market Scenario

Bhutan Ferro Silicon Market:
Ferro silico prices in Bhutan have dropped marginally due to lackluster demand. Although, producers reported of shortage of supply in the market as they are occupied in fulfilling their long-term contracts.

Indian Ferro Silicon Market:
Demand for the material has increased but still not good enough to have any impact on prices which remains unchanged.
