SAIL has invited a global tender for purchase of 9,840 MT high carbon ferro chrome from domestic/overseas manufacturers or importers for its different units/plants.
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India’s largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products including pig iron, flat and long products and special steels at its plants spread over India. The company intend to procure a projected quantity of about 9,840 MT HC ferro chrome from domestic/overseas sources for its different plants/units. The material is required in 3 months between Mar’17-May’17.

Chemical specifications
The material should contain Chromium 57 to 63%, Carbon 6 to 8%, Silicon 4% max, Phosphorous 0.05% max and Sulphur 0.04% max.
Eligibility criteria
1. The bidder should be indigenous/overseas manufacturer or Indian importer or supplier.
2. The bidder must quote for all SAIL plants requirement and must offer a minimum 5,000 MT quantity for 3 months period.
Tender schedule (IST)
Due date for bid submission is 2 Mar’17 and the techno-commercial opening is on 3 Mar’17 at 11:00 hrs.
