The company is planning to export ASTM A36 or equivalent grade of HR Plates through its global tender.
On 03 June, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) issued a global tender in order to export prime mild steel hot rolled plates. The material will be of ASTM A36 grade or equivalent, ship building quality with size ranging between 10-60 mm. Bids will open on 09 June’15.
Prices should be quoted on FoB Vizag basis. Also, on closure of deal with the concerned party, the shipping of the material will commence from 15 Aug’15.
Last tender was heard to have concluded at USD 375-380/MT FoB India. Plate prices in Indian market are hovering at INR 29,000-30,000/MT (ex-factory) by primary producers and INR 27,500-28,500/MT (ex- factory) by secondary plate mills.
