Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has floated a global tender for export of prime mild steel hot rolled plates of 10,000-20,000 MT quantity for Jan’17 shipment.
The material will be of ASTM A36 grade or equivalent, with size ranging between 12-50 m. Export duty as applicable in sellers country shall be borne by the seller and other duties payable shall be borne by buyer. Bids for the same will close on 6 Dec’16 at 16:00 hrs and offer will be valid till 8 Dec’16.
Prices should be quoted on FoB, Vishakhapatnam basis. However, prices are to be quoted per MT basis for all the markets other than Nepal, Canada and Taiwan.
SAIL cancelled last export tender for 15,000 MT HR Plates floated in Nov’16
On 2 Nov’16, the company had floated its global export tender for 15,000 MT prime mild steel hot rolled plates with scheduled technical bids closed on 8 Nov’16.
As per market sources, SAIL has canceled this plates export tender on account of low bids received from the participants. However the company sold approximately 7,000 MT plates recently at above USD 425/MT, FOB for base grade.
