SAIL Tender for Purchase of 8,990 MT Ferro Silicon

SAIL has invited a global tender for tentative purchase of 8,990 MT ferro silicon for its various plants.

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India’s largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products, including Pig iron, flat and long products and special steels at its plants spread over India. The company will require a projected quantity of about 8,990 MT ferro silicon to meet its four months requirement from Jul-Oct’17.

The offer submitted by the bidder will be valid for the period of 60 days from the date of tender opening.

Technical specification along with packing & quantity required in different plants of SAIL (Market 1) are as follows:

Chemical specifications:

The material should contain Silicon 70% min, Carbon 0.15% max, Phosphorous 0.05% max, Sulphur 0.05% max and Aluminium 2.0% max.

Eligibility criteria:

1. The bidder should be a ferro silicon manufacturer and must have installed capacity to produce 8,000 MT of ferro silicon per annum.
2. The bidder must offer a minimum quantity of 2,700 MT to be submitted in 4 equal installments.
3. The bidder must quote for all size-wise, packing-wise requirement of the market for all SAIL’s plants.

Tender schedule (IST):

The due date for submitting the offer is 27 Jul’17 till 13:00 hrs and the techno-commercial opening is scheduled on 28 Jul’17 at 10:30 hrs
