Offers 65,000 MT Pig iron in open sale; allows discounts upto INR 400/MT
Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), country’s largest steelmaker, has offered 65,000 MT steel grade Pig iron at INR 16,900/MT, ex-Rourkela with a price cut of INR 500/MT. The offer will remain valid till 20 July’15.
The company has also offered additional discount of upto INR 400/MT on bulk purchases upto 14,000 MT (around 5 rakes).

Indian Pig iron market
Pig iron demand in India continues to remain bearish. Offers in major markets have remained unchanged since past three consecutive week as primary manufacturers like NINL, RINL, RSP made no or slight change in Pig iron prices in the beginning of this month.
NINL’s domestic offers got expired on 10 July’15 and it is yet to open fresh offers. Price cut by RSP by upto INR 500/MT is a significant event in market, and it is anticipated that it will definitely lead to noticeable price change in other markets.
