Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has received overwhelming response for its 20,000 MT steel grade pig iron offered in open market early this week, SteelMint learnt from market participants.
Company has managed to sell entire 20,000 MT lot in the range of INR 23,300-23,500/MT (USD 327-330) on Ex-Bhilai, Chhattisgarh basis.
“Offers from nearby private producers are higher by at-least INR 200-300/MT. We would have booked more quantities at this price.” said a trader based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

— Ex-Raigarh = INR 23,800-24,000/MT
— Ex-Durgapur = INR 23,000-23,200/MT
— Ex-Jajpur, Odisha = INR 22,600-22,800/MT
— Ex-Bokaro = INR 22,800-23,000/MT
— Granulated Pig Iron/Ex-works, Odisha = INR 22,000-22,500/MT
— Pig Iron/FoB India = USD 325/MT
