Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India’s largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products including Pig iron, flat and long products and special steels at its plants spread over India. The company issued a tender for purchase of 1,200 MT medium carbon silico manganese (MCSiMn) on FoR Salem steel plant basis.
Delivery: The delivery of the material should be completed in 4 months (300 MT each), from May’16 to Aug’16.
Eligibility criteria
1. Bidder should be a manufacturer of medium carbon silico manganese. A self declaration of same shall be required in the letter head.
2. Bidder should have successfully supplied minimum 360 MT medium carbon silico manganese to any industry in India in any of the last four financial year.
3. Average turnover of the bidder during last three financial year should be at least 3.23 crore.

Tender schedule
Due date of submission is 28 Apr’16 at 15:00 hrs IST and the techno-commercial opening date is 29 Apr’16 at 10:00 hrs IST.
The last silico manganese tender which was issued on Jan’16 for purchase of 34,720 MT silico manganese, to meet the requirement of its various plants and for a duration of 4 months (Feb’16- May’16). The techno-commercial bid had revealed that 9 plants had participated in the tender. However, the online reverse auction which was held on 24 Feb’16 received no bids as participants opted out of bidding with the LCNS price fixed at INR 40,500/MT.
