BSP, as a central procurement unit of SAIL, has invited bid for a tentative purchase of 23,484 MT HC Ferro manganese from indigenous manufacturers for its various plants.
SAIL, one of the major Steel producers in India, consumes approximately 80,000 MT HC Ferro Manganese annually. Therefore, the company intends to procure a tentative quantity of 23,484 MT HC Ferro Manganese from indigenous manufacturers for a period of four months, starting from May’15-Aug’15.
The total quantity to be purchased is 23,484 MT, which will meet the requirement of following plants and shall be covered under two markets for the mentioned 4 months.

The material should contain minimum 70% Manganese. Materials shall be dispatched through roadways and transportation shall be arranged by the bidder including freight charges on door delivery basis.
Last date of submission of offers will be on 28 Mar, 2015 at 13.00 hrs and technical bids will open on 30 Mar, 2015 at 10.30 hrs.
Note: Earlier, on 11 Nov’ 14, the company had floated a tender to purchase a tentative quantity of 21,905 MT HC Ferro Manganese for a period of 4 months Jan’15- Apr-15 which closed on 28 Nov’14.
SAIL’s 10,620 MT Ferro Silicon Purchase Tender expiring on 31 Mar, 2015
On 11 Mar’15, SAIL had floated a global tender for tentative purchase of 10,620 MT Ferro Silicon from indigenous and overseas suppliers for a period of four months starting Apr’15-Jul’15 with scheduled technical bids to open on 01 Apr’15.
