Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has floated a global tender for the export of prime mild steel non-alloy concast billet of 10,000-15,000 MT quantity.
The material to be exported comprises of size 150 *150*12,000 mm. Export duty as applicable in sellers country shall be borne by the seller and other duties payable shall be borne by the buyer. Bids for the same will be open on 03 Feb’17.

Prices should be quoted on FoB Haldia basis. Also, on the closure of deal with the concerned party, the shipping of the material will commence from 07 Apr’17. Prices are to be quoted per MT basis for all the markets.
Last tender by Vizag steel concluded around USD 400/MT
India’s leading steelmaker, Vizag Steel has recently concluded an export tender for 20,000 MT (150 x150 mm) billets and 10,000 MT (90X90 mm) bloom on 19 Jan’17.
The 20,000 MT billet 150*150mm is concluded at USD 397.5/MT FOB, Vizag Port and another lot of 10,000 MT (90*90 mm) concluded at about USD403-405/MT FOB, Vizag Port.
Global Billet Offers Fall
Seaborne billet offers have dropped sharply on account of falling scrap prices globally. Russian and Ukrainian suppliers are heard offering square billets at around USD 370/MT FOB Black Sea. Prices have dropped by about USD 20/MT since starting of the month.
Chinese suppliers remain out of the market due to ongoing holidays, however it is expected that Chinese offers will come post holidays.
