SteelMint has heard from its market sources that SAIL has cancelled its plates export tender of 15,000 MT on account of low bids received from the participant. The company is planning to negotiate the Plate export Tender of 15000/MT.
On 8Th Nov’16, SAIL has floated a global tender for export of prime mild steel hot rolled plates of 15,000 MT quantity. The material was of ASTM A36 grade or equivalent, ship building quality with size ranging between 10-63 mm.
According to the sources, there was the single participant who was bidding in the range of USD 405-410/MT, FoB India, whereas the company is expecting around USD 430/MT.
Although the company has cancelled the tender and have decided to renegotiate the offer with the buyer in the range of USD 430/MT ,FoB basis for the commercial base plates.
SAIL cancelled last export tender for 15,000 MT HR Plates expired on 19 Aug’16
On 11 Aug’16, the company had floated its global export tender for 15,000 MT prime mild steel hot rolled plates with scheduled technical bids closed on 19 Aug’16.
As per market sources, SAIL has cancelled its plates export tender on account of low bids received from the participants. The company received bids at around USD 370-375/MT, FoB India whereas its expectations were around USD 400/MT, FoB India.
