The 8th largest exporter of iron ore, Russia has exported around 1.17 MnT iron ore in Jun’17, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a decrease of 49% M-o-M as it was 2.31 MnT in May’17. Compared with the numbers for the month of Jun’16 the Russia’s iron ore exports were down by 29% Y-o-Y as well which were at 1.64 MnT then.
In Jun’17, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 0.67 MnT, down by 50.4% M-o-M, however up by 20% Y-o-Y compared to Jun’16. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 0.50 MnT, down by 48% M-o-M & 54% Y-o-Y compared to Jun’16.
Country-wise Iron Ore Exports
Russia iron ore exports were chiefly directed to Ukraine followed by China, Netherlands and others in Jun’17.
Russian exports to Ukraine were recorded at 0.22 MnT, China 0.20 MnT and Netherlands 0.17 MnT etc.
